  1. CALL TO ORDER Bohnsack, Hentges, Hesse, Nierenhausen, Schurman, Thompson

  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The School Board Chair will lead the school board and attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

  3. COMMUNITY ROCORI PROUD-Congratulations Debbie Nelson This agenda item is intended to be formal opportunity for the School Board to recognize a ROCORI Community Member for their contributions supporting the ROCORI School district. The following items are criteria for the award consideration:

  • Contributions that have aided in the progress and attainment of ROCORl's mission, vision, and strategic direction

  • Contributions that have helped ROCORI to create and grow positive relationships between schools, families, and communities while addressing the varied needs of our student populations

  • Contributions that have promoted ROCORl's academics, arts or athletics

  • Contributions that have impacted the economic sustainability of ROCORI and its programs

  • Contributions that have significantly impacted student achievement

  1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Board action to approve the agenda for the meeting is expected.

  2. CONSENT ITEMS Action is requested on the following items of the consent agenda. Consent agenda items are typically adopted without discussion of the individual items because they are routine or ordinary in action. Any consent agenda item may be removed for further discussion and deliberation by any member of the board.

    1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from the Regular Board Meeting and Work Session held on April 24, 2023. Recommend approval of the minutes from the meetings.

    2. APPROVAL OF BILLS Treasurer Nierenhausen will have been at the school site to review bills, ask questions, and confirm information prior to the meeting. Recommendation is to approve the bill payment of $2,059,171.78 subject to any adjustments or direction offered by the Treasurer.

    3. TREASURER REPORT Treasurer Nierenhausen will have reviewed financial information for the board. This information is included in the Treasurer's Report.

    4. EMPLOYMENT Recommend approval of the assignment as outlined.

      1. District Education Facility-Paraprofessional: Amber Jacobs increasing from 30 hours to 31 hours per week.

      2. Food Service Department-ROCORI Secondary-Cook's Helper: Jacqueline Rubio starting the 2023-2024 school year.

      3. District-Wide Summer Food Service Program and Adult Care Food Program Hires

      4. ROCORI Public Schools-Director of Activities: Mitch Dorr starting July 1, 2023

      5. Cold Spring Elementary-Paraprofessional moving to Richmond Elementary Paraprofessional: Kelly Schneider starting the 2023-2024 school year

      6. ROCORI Public Schools-Director of Teaching and Learning: Amy Notch effective July 1, 2023.

      7. ROCORI High School-EL teacher: Lori Langerud starting the 2023-2024 school year

      8. ROCORI High School-Assistant Principal: Emily Peterson effective July 1, 2023.

      9. John Clark and Richmond Elementary-Dean of Students: Malea Bergeson starting the 2023-2024 school year.

      10. ROCORI Middle School-paraprofessional: Wendi Sauza requesting a reduction in work schedule from 5 days a week to 3 days a week through June 1, 2023.

      11. ROCORI Secondary-Social Studies teacher: Andrea Swanberg starting the 2023-2024 school year

      12. ROCORI Secondary-English teacher: Alexa Martin starting the 2023-2024 school year

      13. ROCORI Secondary-Art and Online teacher: Shelby Teal starting the 2023-2024 school year

      14. ROCORI Middle School-English Language Learner teacher: Claire Madden starting the 2023-2024 school year

  1. RETIREMENTS-RESIGNATIONS Recommend approval of the following resignations and/or retirements.

    1. Resignation-Food Service Department-ROCORI Secondary-Cook's Helper: Ann Hansen effective June 1, 2023.

    2. Resignation-Food Service Department-Cold Spring Elementary-Cook's Helper: Mary Moraczewski effective June 1, 2023.

    3. Resignation-Facilities and Grounds-ROCORI Secondary-Cleaner: Keith Kloos effective May 5, 2023.

    4. Retirements-ROCORI Secondary-English/Language Arts teacher: Patti Rice effective June 2, 2023.

    5. Resignation-ROCORI Instructional Coach: Mary Swanson effective June 2, 2023

    6. Resignation-ROCORI Middle School-paraprofessional: Wendi Sauza effective June 1, 2023.

    7. Resignation-ROCORI High School-SPED teacher: Tiffany Flesner effective June 2, 2023


  1. MEDICAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE REQUEST

    1. Cold Spring Elementary-First Grade teacher: Krista Gombos requesting medical leave from approximately September 12, 2023 through December 3, 2023. An anticipated return date of December 4, 2023.


  1. SRO CONTRACT The contract between the School District and the City of Cold Spring for the School Resource Officer services. Recommendation: Approve the contract as presented.


  1. ACTION Action items receive individual attention because of the nature of the issues, the need to discuss or review the information prior to taking action, or the specific kind of action required for the item.

    1. APPROVAL OF PAYMENT TO COLD SPRING BAKERY Payment to Cold Spring Bakery Check #111403 in the amount of $155.86 Recommendation: Approve the Cold Spring Bakery Payment as presented.

    2. MOU TO THE MASTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 750 AND EDUCATION MINNESOTA-ROCORI REGARDING FLEX DAYS/EXTENDED YEAR CONTRACT FOR COUNSELORS. This has been reviewed by the Negotiations Committee Recommendation: Approve the MOU as presented.

    3. RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A DONATION Be It Resolved, by the School Board of ISD 750, ROCORI, as follows, that the following donation be accepted with gratitude: Thank you to all the organizations and individuals for their donations. The school district appreciates your generosity and continued support. Recommend adoption of the resolution to accept the donation


  1. DISCUSSION ITEMS Discussion items receive individual attention because of the nature of the issues and the need for introductory or other discussion in order to review the information prior to taking action. This is also the agenda location for items which simply need school board review, but no formal action on the item is required. Discussion items will typically return to the agenda at a future point for more specific action.

    1. COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM UPDATE Director of Community Education, Cameron Goude will be presenting an update on the Community Education programming.

  1. ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS

    1. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT The Interim Superintendent will make his report about ROCORI Public Schools.

    2. BUDGET COMPARISON REPORT APRIL 2023 The business office provides an update of district expenditures and revenues through the Budget Comparison report. The report is intended to provide a financial picture of the district in a couple ways. One is to compare current year expenditures to the previous year. The second is to simply give a report on the current financial status. In addition to the report, special items of note are highlighted in the explanations offered. This report does not require formal action but is provided as an informational item.

    3. BOARD COMMITTEE AND REPRESENTATIVE REPORTS Board members will report on activities within their portfolio of committee and representative assignments.


  1. COMMENTS AND REQUESTS FROM VISITORS The agenda is open to visitors of the meeting to offer comments to and/or requests of the school board. The comments and requests should follow the adopted district guidelines which are printed and available at the meeting. As a general rule, items introduced in the opportunity for comments and requests do not receive action from the School Board, but are taken under advisement or consideration for future action.

  2. UPCOMING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES A calendar of upcoming issues of concern to the school board is included as part of the agenda.
